This Indenture Made this 14th day of July eighteen hundred and 
sixteen Between James George and Elizabeth his wife, Benjamin 
Letcher and Margaret his wife, John Hann & Jane his wife, James 
Robertson, Samuel McKee and Patsey his wife, George Robertson, 
Charlotte Robertson, of the County of Garrard and State of Kentucky 
of the one part and John Bryant, Abraham Wilhite and Francis Voris 
for and in the behalf of the Society of people on Shawnee Run called 
Shakers of the County of Mercer and State aforesaid of the other part.  
Witnesseth that the said James George and Elizabeth his wife and 
Benjamin Letcher and Margaret his wife, John Hann and Jane his wife, 
James Robertson, Samuel McKee and Patsey his wife, George 
Robertson and Charlotte Robertson for and in consideration of the sum 
on one Dollar by the said John Bryant, Abraham Wilhite and Francis 
Voris to them in hand paid the receipt Whereof is hereby acknowledged 
and [       ] others causes considerations have this day Bargained and 
Sold and by them presents do Give, Grant, Sell and Convey unto the 
said John, Abraham and Frances a certain tract or parcel of land lying 
and being in the County of Mercer on the waters of the Kentucky river ~~   
Containing by estimation fourteen hundred acres and known as Samuel 
Woods Settlement ~~ and pre-emption claim which was patented to
Alexander Robertson and John McMurtry and being the residue of said
fourteen hundred acres of land mentioned in a deed of relinquishment
executed by Alexander Robertson to the heirs of John McMurtry and of 
record in the Clerks office in the Mercer Court except one hundred acres 
Surveyed by Samuel Wood Junr to Charles Brown and the said James 
George and Elizabeth his wife, Benjamin Letcher and Margaret his wife, 
John Hann and Jane his wife, James Robertson, Samuel McKee and 
Patsey his wife, George Robertson and Charlotte Robertson the aforesaid 
described land together with all & singular the appurtenances thereunto 
belonging Belonging to the said John Bryant,

Abraham Wilhite and Frances Voris Trustees as aforesdaid doth hereby
relinquish and forever grant all their right and title both in law and
equity and the same to the said John Bryant, Abraham Wilhite and 
Frances Voris will warrant and defend against the claim of themselves

and their heirs But against the Claims of no other person or persons
whatsover In Testimony whereof the said James George and Elizabeth 
his wife, Benjamin Letcher and Margaret his wife, John Hann and Jane 
his wife, James Robertson, Samuel McKee and Patsey his wife, George 
Robertson and Charlotte Robertson hand hereunto set their hands and 
seals the day and Year above Written.

I William Jennings deputy Clerk for Benjamin Letcher Clerk for 
the County Court for the County aforesaid do certify that on the 
14th day of July 1816 this deed was acknowledged before me 
in the Clerks office for the County aforesaid by Benjamin
Letcher, James George, James Robertson, Samuel McKee and 
John Hann to be their act and deed for the purpose therein 
mentioned and on the same day Came before me Peggy Letcher 
wife of the aforesaid Benjamin Letcher late Peggy Robertson, 
Elizabeth George wife of the aforesaid James George late
Elizabeth Robertson, Patsey McKee wife of the said Saml McKee 
late Patsey Robertson, Jane Hann wife of John Hann late Jane 
Robertson and Charlotte Robertson and relinquished their right 
of inheritance in and to the within mentioned tract of land as the 
law directs for the purpose of being recorded in the Mercer County
Court.

The within Indenture was this day produced to me in my office 
and proved by the oath of Robert L. Stewart &  Charles Humphreys 
subscribing Witnesses thereto to be the act and deed of George 
Robertson and James Robertson a party thereto which Indenture 
together with the certificate thereon and also
[          ] and made of record.
