Mrs. Clarence (Mary) Ponsler

Mrs. Clarence (Mary) Ponsler, 85, died in St. Joseph
Missouri Hospital, Sunday, April 29 at 11:00 p.m.

She was born April 3, 1894, a daughter of John and
Nellie Smith Holmes.

August 23, 1916, she married Clarence Ponsler, who
died September, 1963.

Surviving is one son, Marvin of St. Joseph, Missouri;
brothers, Charles Holmes of Shelbyville, George
Holmes of Pleasant Acres Rehabilitation Center,
Altamont; sisters, Martha Giles of Mode, Jessie
Berner of Beecher City, and Elizabeth Gallagher of
Villa Grove and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Friday at 2:00 p.m. at Kull
Funeral Home, Altamont with visitation Thursday
from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.  Burial will be in the
Hubbart Cemetery north of Beecher City.

PRUDENCE PONSLER

August 2, 1979

Miss Prudence Ponsler, 90, of rural Beecher City died
6 p.m. Friday (July 20, 1979) in Lakeland Nursing Home,
Effingham.

Funeral services were at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Brummer-
stedt Funeral Home, Stewardson.  Burial was in Mount
Zion Cemetery, Shelby County.

Miss Ponsler was born in Shelby County, daughter of
Francis and Martha Ann (Clessom) Ponsler.  She was
a retired school teacher.

Surviving are her brothers, Lawrence of Decatur,
Elgin of Beecher City; and two sisters, Verna Ponsler
and Mary Ponsler, both of Beecher City.
