Mary M. Ponsler, 82, of rural Beecher City, died at
2:40 p.m. yesterday, May 7, at St. Anthony Memorial
Hospital, Effingham.
She was born on June 24, 1897, the daughter of
Francis and Martha Ann Klessom Ponsler. She was
a retired school teacher.
Surviving are brothers, Lawrence of Decatur and Elgin
at home; sister, Verna, also at home; six nephews and
one niece.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in
the Brummerstedt Funeral Home, Stewardson. Burial
was in the Mt. Zion Cemetery, Shelby County.

Lawrence C. Ponsler, 88, of 531 W. William St., Decatur,
formerly of Shelby County died 3:25 p.m. Tuesday (Jan.
5, 1982) in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Funeral servicees were at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in Brummer-
stedt Funeral Home, Stewardson. Burial was in Mount
Zion Cemetery, near Shelbyville.
Mr. Ponsler was born in Shelby County, son of Francis H.
and Martha Ann Ponsler. He was a retired construction
worker and a World War I veteran. He married Maude
Lawrence.
Surviving are his wife; sons, Charles Wesley of
Monticello; Francis Hug of Belleville; Walter
Eugene of Davis, Calif.; brother, Elgin of
Shelbyville and sister, Verna Ponsler of Shelby-
ville; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild.

ELGIN PONSLER
January 6, 1983
Elgin F. Ponsler, 82, formerly of Beecher City died
at 12:42 a.m. Jan. 3, at Shelby County Hospital,
Shelbyville.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Brum-
merstedt Funeral Home, Stewardson, with burial in
Mount Zion Cemetery, Shelby County.
Mr. Ponsler was born April 8, 1900, in Shelby
County, the son of Frances and Martha Ann
(Clesson) Ponsler.
Surviving are nieces and nephews.
Elgin was the last survivor of a family of eight
sisters and three brothers.
