MRS. MARY WHITE
DIES AT AGE 70

Had Been in Ill Health for Last Four Years.

Mrs. Mary Elizabeth White, widow of Humphrey White, died at 9:30 o'clock Wednesday morning at St. Mary's hospital. She was seventy years old last February. She had been ill for over four years, suffering from cancer. She had been in the hospital for the last fourteen months. She had a patient, cheerful disposition, and throughout her long sufferings she did not complain.

Mrs. White's maiden name was Mary Elizabeth Lawler. She was born in Dublin, Queen's County, Ireland, Feb. 5, 1852. She came with her parents to America when only thirteen years old. For over fifty years she had been a resident of De- catur, and had been a member of St. Patrick's Catholic church during all of that time. She was widely known among the old people of the city and had many friends.

She and Humphrey White were married Feb. 29, 1876. Mr. White died April 9, 1915. Mrs. White is survived by seven children. Arthur J. White of Stewardson, Mrs. Elizabeth Gosnell of Pana, Mrs. Katherine Baker, John H. White, Mrs. Anna Dollen, William J. White and Mrs. Mary Davern, all of Decatur. There are fifteen grandchildren.

Mrs. White made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Mary Davern, 605 East Center street, before going to the hospital over a year ago.

The body was removed to the Moran & Sons undertaking establishment and prepared for burial. Funeral arrangements have not been completed.

FUNERALS March 16, 1922

MRS. MARY E. WHITE

The funeral of Mrs. Mary Elizabeth White will be held at 9 o'clock Saturday morning at St. Patrick's Catholic chruch. The interment will be in Calvary cemetery.

The body will be taken today to the home of her son, John White, 1253 East Main.
