DEATH OF MRS. HULDAH JANE WOODFILL
October 17, 1873
New Albany, Indiana

_______________

We regret to announce the death of another old native of this city, who expired this morning at her home, about 8 o'clock, after a short but very painful illness. Mrs. Huldah Jane Woodfill, was the oldest child of the late Uncle Tommy Sinex, and wife of Mr. John H. Woodfill, to whom she was married over thirty years ago. She was born in this city about fifty-five years ago and resided in the city, or in [-------------] child- hood, during her entire life. A large circle of friends and acquaintances will mourn her death, for she had endeared herself to them by her genial disposition, and by the disinterestedness of her charachter. She was ever foremost in all benevolent enterprises, when the aid of the women of our city was required. For many years she has been a devoted follower of the Saviour of mankind, holding connection with the Methodist denomination in which she was reared by her parents. She leaves a devoted and affectionate husband and a family of children to mourn her death. To them no consolation can be offered, save that their loss is her eternal gain.

The hour for the funeral services have not been fixed, but the announcement will be made in due time.
