May 9, 1909
Salem, Washington County, Indiana
_______________
Dies Suddenly at her Home Thursday Morning.
______________
The people of Salem were shocked Thursday morning
when the news spread that Mrs. Lizzie F. White was dead.
Although she had been in poor health for several months
and it was not thought that she would ever recover her
former health, her death came suddenly and unexpected.
She had been a sufferer from chronic bowel trouble for
which an operation was to have been performed the day
she died. At 4 o'clock when she was given a dose of
medicine she seemed bright and cheerful, but in less
than ten minutes she had an attack of the heat and she
passed quietly away.
Mrs. White was an estimable woman and will be greatly
missed among her large circle of relatives and friends.
Lizzie Sinex was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Sinex,
and was born in New Albany, Indiana, August 11, 1855,
and was 53 years, 9 months and 20 days old when she died,
May 6, 1909.
She was married to H. F. White, August 18, 1889, and to this
union were born two children, a daughter who died in
infancy, and Lorraine T., age 14. Left to mourn her departure
are a husband and son, two sisters, Mrs. Harvey Walker,
of New Albany, and Mrs. N. E. Rodman, of South Boston,
two brothers, Thomas Sinex, Puyallup, Washington, and
E. W. Sinex, Mineral Point, Wisconsin, besides a host of other
relatives and friends.
Mrs. White became a member of the M. E. church when 14
years of age and has lived a faithful member of that
denomination all her life.
She loved her family and friends and was always happy when
surrounded by them.
The funeral services were held at the family residence,
Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock and was conducted by
her pastor, Rev. E. A. Robertson. After which her remains
were conveyed to Crown Hill cemetery and laid to rest.
