This Indenture made and entered into this 25th day of March 1816
between James George & Patsey his wife, Benjamin Letcher and 
Peggy his wife, John Hann and Jane his wife, James Robertson, 
George Robertson, Charlotte Robinson and Samuel McKee and 
Patsey his wife, the legal heirs and Representatives of Alexander 
Robertson Deceased all of the one part and Stephen G. Letcher 
Senr of the other part Witnesseth that Whereas the aforesaid 
Decedent in his lifetime agree to convey to a certain Edward 
Singleton for the Consideration of one Hundred Dollars a Tract of 
Land in Mercer County Containing Thirty five acres and whereas 
he Also he was bound for the Consideration of Two Hundred Dollars 
to convey to a Certain Stephen Trigg another Tract adjoining thereto 
Containing forty Six Acres to all which the afsd Letcher became 
entitled and is now in title by purchase from sd Singleton to whom 
S. Trigg sold the afsd Forty six acres Now therefore in consideration 
as aforesaid and in order to vest the legal Title in sd Letcher wholly 
purchased as afsd is entitled thereto the aforesaid parties of the first 
part have this Day released, aliened,

Conveyed and Confirmed and do by these presents release alien 
convey and confirm unto the sd Stephen G. Letcher the party of the 
second part the two parcels of Land afsd containing by Survey Eighty 
one acres and Bounded as follows - To wit:  Beginning at a White Oak 
thence North 29-1/2 West 76 poles Thence West 38 poles thence South 
38 West 76 poles with Lewis Roses Line Thence North 79 E 102 to the 
Beginning To have and to hold the afsd Tract of Land with all its 
Appurtenances to [herein] sd Letcher and his heirs absolutely and in fee 
simple against the claim of all the afd parties of the first part or any of 
them and against the Claim or Claims of all and every person or persons 
Whatsoever.  In Testimony whereof the afsd parties to the first part have 
hereunto set their Hands and affixd their seals the date aforesaid.

I do hereby certify that on the 25th day of March 1816 George Robertson, 
John Hann, Benjamin Letcher, James George and on the 10th day of May 
of the year aforesaid James Robertson and on the 21st day of June in the 
year aforesaid Samuel McKee came before me in my office and 
acknowledged the within Indenture of bargain and Sale to be their Act and 
Deed to Stephen G. Letcher, that Patsey McKee late Patsey Robertson, 
Peggy Letcher late Peggy Robertson on the 25th day of March1816,  Jane 
Hann late Jane Robertson, Charlotte Robertson & Elizabeth George late 
Elizabeth Robertson, Heirs of Alexander Robertson, Deceased, also came 
before me in my office and freely and Voluntarily acknowledged their right 
of inheritance to the said Letcher for the within land for the purposes 
therein mentioned.

This Indenture was this day produced to me in my Office
which together with the Certificate of Benjamin Letcher, Clerk of
